Community action process on maternal and child health was initiated in the
districts of Sheikhupura, Kasur & Nankana with the help of UNICEF. The objective of the project was to reduce the maternal and infant mortality rates in these districts. The project created awareness and mobilized the community members to take appropriate actions for the health of women and children. The activities included awareness seminars, sensitization and awareness meetings with elected representatives and District Health Officials, Medical Camps, implementation of Community Action Process and Behavior Change Communication, Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Safe Motherhood Voucher Scheme and training of healthcare providers on maternal and child health.
